League of Legends Tournament Update: Reverie Rift Cup

For the past eighty eight weeks, Reverie Esports has been following a very similar tournament format which consists of weekly tournaments on Saturday nights. Starting off in June of 2016 the addition of monthly cash prized tournament arrived and has since then become somewhat outdated. Change is necessary nowadays and coming to replace the beloved ridiculously long named Reverie Esports League of Legends Open Tournament Series is the Reverie Rift Cup! Besides a new fancy and shortened name, there are plenty of new and familiar aspects to the Reverie Rift Cup.

Schedule and Name

We are sticking with our classic weekly tournaments on Saturday nights starting off at 5:15 PM EDT. Instead of being known as Reverie Esports League of Legends Open tournaments, the new tournaments will be known as Reverie Rift Cup Qualifiers. As usual, the final Sunday of every month at 7:00 PM EDT will be reserved for our grand finale cash prize tournament. Formally known as the Reverie Esports League of Legends Buy In Open, the tournament will now be known as the Reverie Rift Cup. Each Cup season will last for one month.

Cup Qualifier Points Format

Allowing only four teams to join the Reverie Esports League of Legends Buy In Open tournament for free did not always secure us with a healthy sized cash prize tournament. To fix this, with the Reverie Rift Cup tournaments will consist of the best six teams from our weekly qualifier tournaments. The top four teams from each weekly qualifier tournament will earn “Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points.” The six teams with the most points will have their registration fees paid for the Reverie Rift Cup. The plan is to keep the buy in costs at $12.00 USD per team in order to keep it reasonably affordable for teams to join in who are not able to compete with us on a weekly basis. To increase the minimum cash prize pool later on down the road more teams will be invited instead of us raising the buy in costs. The format as to how teams earn points from qualifiers are as follows:

. 1st Place: 4 Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points

. 2nd Place: 3 Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points

. 3rd Place: 2 Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points

. 4th Place: 1 Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points

Prizing Structure

With a new tournament structure we need a new prizing structure as well! We wanted to create an emphasis on the value of gift cards from our partner, Deeko, as well as the products that they offer. Also, we wanted to give our loyal and active competitors a small chance at winning some Deeko products!

Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points

. The team with the most Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points after the last qualifier is finished will receive $100.00 USD worth of Deeko gift cards

. The team with the second most Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier Points after the last qualifier is finished will receive $50.00 USD worth of Deeko gift cards

Reverie Rift Cup Qualifier

A random player on an active team that competes in any qualifier tournament will win a Reverie Esports-Deeko Tee Shirt! Each qualifier tournament we will do this raffle off so that our players who are competing with us every week and may not reach the semifinals will have a shot at winning some prizes.

Reverie Rift Cup

. First place will still receive 100% of the cash prize pool, if our average minimum cash prize pool increases we will look to distribute prizing to the second place team as well!

. Also the first place team will receive five Reverie Esports-Deeko Tee Shirts!
